Fibre types

Wool

From the farm to your floor, this is the best mother nature can offer.  From 100% wool to a wool blend, you can be assured of lasting quality and beauty for years to come. Requiring minimum maintenance, its natural insulation properties help keep your home warm in winter and cooler in summer and wool carpets have excellent acoustic insulation to keep indoor noise to a minimum. Wool fibres can stretch, bend and spring back into shape making your carpet durable and long lasting but still luxuriously soft under foot.

The Benefits of Wool

  • Wool is durable - Hard-wearing, long lasting and retains it’s appearance.
  • Wool is safe - Flame resistant and reduces dryness and static.
  • Wool is practical - Resists dirt and stains, easy to clean.
  • Wool is comfortable - Natural insulator, keeps noise down and naturally regulates air moisture content.
  • Wool is natural - Warm and comfortable, renewable resource, biodegradable.

Polypropylene

Synthetic man made fibres are blended together to provide an exceptional alternative to other products. Hard wearing, easy to clean, it is an excellent cost effective carpet for the budget concious. Polypropylene yarn has excellent colourfastness properties with the incidence of sunlight and ozone fading greatly reduced, and also contains anti-static properties.

Solution Dyed Nylon

Proving to be a very popular style, solution dyed carpets are very affordable and amazingly resilient.  SDN has many benefits over normal nylon carpets; they have excellent wear and appearance rentention properties.  The colour in this fibre is all the way through the filament (like a carrot) where normal nylon has the colour sprayed on after manufacture so the colour is on the outside of the filament with white inside (like an apple). A characteristic of SDN is that spillages cannot penetrate the carpet and cause permanent stains which makes cleaning a breeze. Available in  many different colours, styles and textures.
